Buyers who wanted a Tesla Model Y a while ago had to hand over U.S. $50,000+ for a dual-motor, long-range modification of it not long ago, but a cheaper single-motor spec is finally available now.
Along with half the engine count, the SUV packs a smaller battery sufficient for only 390 kilometers (242 miles) of range. On the plus side, it can be obtained for as little as $42,000.
An optional $3,000 package adds a third seat row with extra USB-C sockets for those in the rear, and makes the second row movable with adjustable backrests.
