China-made Tesla cars get imported into Canada

Tesla will soon begin importing its electric cars from its factory in China to North America, Reuters reports. The first model to arrive will be the Model Y, which should soon appear in Canada.

The SUV remains the marque’s most popular production EV worldwide. The reason for the decision is simple: whereas North America presents the biggest market for Tesla, China houses its largest and most financially profitable industrial complex.

The new Model Y version for Canada is already in production in the East. The company has yet to highlight the differences from the current trims. Around 9,000 units are expected to be complete in Q2 2023 and arrive at dealerships throughout Canada this summer.
