Tesla warns about impending Model Y price hike in Europe and US

Tesla has confirmed that its affordable Model Y SUV would soon go up in price in select regions around the world. The corresponding statement can be found in the company’s official accounts on X, the social network now owned by Elon Musk.

In particular, Tesla Europe & Middle East reports that the Model Y will become roughly €2,000 more expensive in a number of EU countries starting from March 22, 2024. Right now, the Model Y RWD rated for 455 km (282 miles) of WLTP range costs from €44,990 in Germany (that’s $48,900).

Tesla North America says new prices will be valid from April 1, 2024. The bump is smaller in the States at just $1,000. Right now, you can order a Model Y from $43,990, but factor in the $7,500 federal tax incentive and you’ll get an attractive $36,490 total.
