Gruber Motor is selling three “as-new” Tesla Roadster EVs dating back to 2010. The company claims all three have sat in a shipping container for 13 years after their original buyer refused to pick them up for some reason. The actual drivetrain condition is unknown.
Frankly, the whole situation looks rather weird: for 13 years, the container had stayed unused in a transportation terminal. As such, whoever decides to buy the cars will have to cover the storage costs first.
The Roadster trio comes in assorted colors and trim levels. Both Sport trims can sprint 0-97 km/h (0-60 mph) in 3.7 seconds, while the Base version can do the same in 3.9 seconds. The battery size of 53 kWh is standard for all three.
Despite being technically zero-mileage, the seller admits the cars may encounter powertrain and battery degradation issues. There has been no attempt to start them, and Gruber Motor says it will take care of all the required maintenance as long as someone decides to buy them out and bring them back to the United States.
Per the seller, offers have already started pouring in with one prospective buyer giving $150,000 for all three and another one offering $76,000 for just one Roadster. Gruber Motor says it expects a much better deal than either, though.
