Camping add-ons for trucks have the indisputable advantage of compactness, and you don’t have to tow them like trailers. They are also comparatively affordable, but their height hurts fuel economy and often makes your truck look weird. Skinny Guy Campers found a solution for that.
The new module, called Topper, can be folded down to a very compact size dictated by the installed options and only raised to its full height when the vehicle is parked. Equipment inside can include a gas stove, a sink, a fresh water tank, a boiler, a fridge, a solar panel and even central heating. A camping tent is also provided.
Skinny Guy campers come in a variety of sizes to fit most pickups on the market, and a dedicated version for the Rivian R1T is coming next year.
In its most affordable variant, the Topper costs $15,625. A better-appointed Skinny Fat version starts from $28,750. Going for the top spec will set you back $36,250 in the United States.
