The Writing is on the Wall: Stellantis urges brands to evolve or die

Contrary to the previous statements that Stellantis Group addressed its constituent car companies, some of them may face extinction in two years.

According to Carlos Tavares, the heavily criticized leader of the company, leaving all 14 automobile brands around until 2031 as originally promised might be too much to wish for in the present conditions.

When Stellantis acquired financially struggling car marques at the beginning of the decade, it said they had ten years to fix their performance and become desirable again. However, as it now turns out, the financing plans that these marques ended up with are only valid through 2026. In 2026, these agreements will formally expire, and Stellantis may decide not to prolongate them.
