NorthernAmerican division of auto concern Toyota has
submitted a package of documents for obtaining a patent for the technology of
"transparent" front racks.
The company has developed a new way to get rid of the
"dead zones". Engineers propose to use a system of translucent
glasses that will project everything that is happening behind the front pillar
directly onto the cabin itself, covered with a special reflective opaque
material.
The Japanese are not the first in their development in
this case. Prior to them, the company Jaguar Land Rover offered to embed in the
displays displays, which will display images from external cameras. But this is
quite expensive, in comparison with semi-transparent mirrors.
When such technology may appear in the serial models
of the brand, it is not yet known.
