Japanese automaker Toyota is preparing for the Tokyo Motor Show, which will start tomorrow, the premiere of its new development - the taxi car JPN Taxi. The five-seater car is designed only for the domestic market of the Land of the Rising Sun. By the way, the prototype of this car was introduced 2 years ago, so it did not take much time from the idea to the embodiment.
JPN Taxi will be available in two versions: standard Nagomi and "luxury" Takumi. The first will be equipped with halogen headlights and unpainted bumpers, and the second will be able to boast of LED headlights and large tail lights.
The left door is sliding, equipped with an automatic opening system. By the way, the rear sofa of the car folds up, which provides enough space inside to accommodate a bulky cargo, for example, a wheelchair. Taxi passengers from Toyota will be able to adjust the temperature in the cabin, thanks to the air conditioning settings available to them. For safety, collision avoidance systems and warnings of leaving the occupied band, automatic switching of headlights and emergency braking are responsible.
Concerning the technical side of the issue, we can not fail to mention that Toyota JPN Taxi received from the creators a hybrid power unit consisting of a gas engine powered by a 1.5-liter engine.
