Toyota Majesty arrives in Japan as the GranAce

The Toyota Majesty is a single-space business van that the company launched in Thailand this summer. The car is now coming to Japan, where it will be sold under the ‘GranAce’ badge.

Essentially, the Toyota GranAce is a luxed-up, but smaller version of the latest-gen Hiace. Its main selling feature is the premium interior trim that involves plenty of fake leather and wood. The base version of the MPV has three individual seat rows and can therefore accommodate up to six passengers. The second row is advertised as particularly comfortable with its ergonomic backs, armrests, and footrests. You may pay extra to add a fourth row in the back, but it is going to be quite minimalistic and more of an emergency option.

The equipment includes LED headlights, a multimedia system, climate control, adaptive cruise control, and pedestrian/cyclist recognition.

A 2.8-liter, four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine rated at 163 hp (122 kW) sends the torque to the wheels by means of a six-speed automatic transmission.

The premiere will occur at the Tokyo Motor Show in late October 2019, with the sales start expected to follow immediately.
