Toyota is looking for volunteers who would help it test its new car called the P4. The vehicle packs a Level 4 self-driving system and comes based on the fifth generation of the Lexus LS.
All volunteers have to apply for participation and meet the criteria. The tests will involve the car trying to find its own way through a densely populated area in Tokyo where there are many skyscrapers around and the passenger throughout is especially high. An attendant will be present in the car at all times, ready to overtake the steering wheel should the automatic routine fail.
the Japanese automotive marque has previously shown us e-Palette shuttle buses that it planned to use during the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics. Each minibus can accommodate up to 20 passengers and is configured to move along a predetermined route within the Olympic village.
