Toyota bZ4X concept previews production car slated for mid-2022

The Japanese automotive giant has teamed up with Subaru to develop an electric crossover SUV concept named the bZ4X. Production should begin in Japan and China towards the middle of the next year.

The only details we are told is that the car has an all-wheel drive system and comes based on the e-TNGA platform. A closer inspection reveals a modestly sized hexagonal front grille with vertical gill-like air intakes at both sides. The headlights are narrow and composed of four LED elements, plus a DRL strip at the top.

The side view is rather elaborate: note especially the section running down the shoulder line and the crease down below that bends upwards at the rear fenders.

Interior highlights include a digital dashboard, a wide infotainment screen and hardware HVAC controls underneath that screen. A drive mode selector sits on the center console, accompanied by a sensor panel backlit in blue.
