Japanese company reported that world sales of cars with hybrid power plant constituted 10 million copies by January 31. In April, 2016 the counter of sales crossed a mark of 9 million, and it means, that Toyota could realize 1 million hybrids less than for a year.
Let's note that the first models with the hybrid engine in a company's line appeared in 1997. It were the minibus Coaster Hybrid EV and Toyota Prius car which subsequently got great popularity. Sales of the last exceeded 4 million copies today. Toyota Aqua/Prius was also in a big demanded at the market (sales reached 1,4 million in Japan).
Toyota counted, that thanks to hybrid engines, they managed to save about 29 million tons of combustible fuel in 10 million cars, which didn't allocate 77 million cubic meters of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere .
