Toyota’s newest electric sedan spied with a giant vertical screen

The battery-powered Toyota bZ3 spotted in China this weekend had a massive portrait-oriented display on the dash panel, AutoHome.cn reports.

Judging by the spy shots, the interior of the car was designed according to different principles compared to the bZ4X (see video). The only thing in common between the two is dashboard, which sits closer than usual to the windshield. However, the shapes aren’t the same.

The new sedan has a rectangular main screen, differently laid out front panel and center tunnel, a raised transmission selector, and virtually no hardware buttons in sight.

Earlier images uploaded to the database of the Chinese Ministry of Industry show the bZ3 in detail. Some of its technical specifications are also already known. For instance, the car is 4.7 meters long and uses a single electric motor producing up to 245 PS (242 hp / 180 kW). Its traction batteries are manufactured by Chinese automotive giant BYD.
