Toyota unleashes Rangga project car in Indonesia

Toyota has attended the international motor show in Indonesia with a concept vehicle named Rangga. Styled as a compact-sized, light-duty truck built from simple and cheap panels.

The company points out that the prototype will eventually transform into a production mini-truck that will be made in Indonesia. The specific availability dates aren’t here yet, but it is official that buyers will be able to choose between ICE and battery-electric for the powertrain. Regardless of the choice, all engine internals will reside under the hood at the front.

As for the ladder-frame chassis, it has been designed to support all kinds of loads, from a standard truck bed to a grocery stall, a mobile workshop, an ambulance pod or a camper. Nothing prevents drivers from removing the bed part altogether and racing the Rangga on the track.
