Toyota has unexpectedly stopped the operations on all 14 of its factories in Japan quoting a major malfunction in supply ordering system that made it impossible to order the needed car parts on time. According to Reuters, the corporation has not revealed how soon the issues may be resolved.
According to preliminary reports, there was no hacker attack this time. Last year, Toyota had to pause production due to a hacking attempt, but managed to resume it quickly thanks to having backups.
Even a single day of 14 large factories sitting idle may have a significant impact on annual vehicle delivery schedules.
