Toyota has come to the Brussels Auto Show with its development plan for Europe. By 2026, the Japanese marque hopes to have six different models on sale on the Old Continent. Two out of these have already been previewed.
One of these is the fastback-shaped Sport Crossover Concept. The other one is known as Urban SUV and is a B-class compact crossover slated to become Toyota’s cheapest electric car in the EU. Its production version is scheduled for debut sometime in the first half of 2024.
The Urban SUV is 4,300 mm long, 1,820 mm wide and 1,620 mm tall, making it barely larger than the Yaris Cross. Other than that, the technical specifications remain secret, although Toyota claims that the car is close to production. When it gets released, customers will be choosing between FWD and AWD and two battery sizes.
As for the Sport Crossover, it resembles the bZ Sport Crossover unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show this spring. The front end, the rear pillars and the C-shaped headlights all look similar to that one. Back when it was introduced, Toyota said it would be a China-only car due to the close involvement of BYD in its design. Apparently, the plans have changed, because Europe will be getting a very similar vehicle. It is expected to go on sale in 2025.
