Toyota heats up its Agya baby hatch for Indonesia

Toyota has launched the GR Sport version of its Agya compact five-door hatchback in Indonesia, leaving the engine the same but tweaking the chassis and adding a body kit. The asking price is 237.5 million Rupiah.

Compared to the stock car, the sported-up version looks decidedly more eye-catching thanks to a redesigned radiator grille, an impressively sized from bumper with larger air intakes, side sill extensions and a fake diffuser at the rear end. Inside, the seats now offer lateral support and there are red accents all around.

Power is still supplied by a small three-cylinder engine rated at 88 PS (87 hp / 65 kW) and 113 Nm (83 lb-ft) of torque, which you can specify with a manual transmission or a D-CVT. The suspension benefits from stiffer springs and shocks, and the steering mechanism has also been tweaked for sharper handling.

From the trim level perspective, the Agya GR Sport is also different from the stock compact thanks to new LED lighting all around, a more up-to-date infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen and a 7-inch digital dash display.

The latest Agya generation premiered around a month ago. It comes based on a new chassis and engine, but is nearly the same size at 3,760 x 1,665 x 1,505 mm with 2,455 mm of wheelbase.
