The next-gen Toyota Avalon sedan demonstrated by Toyota Motor Corporation at the Detroit International Motor Show has been met with much enthusiasm and praise on behalf of the visitors and critics alike.
According to Toyota, both the appearance and the inner space of the car have changed much. It now uses the new TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) platform which comes with a lower body height but added width and length. The new chassis enabled the manufacturer to outfit the car with adaptive suspension. It also has better noise proofing now which is always welcome.
On the outside, the new 2018 Toyota Avalon is quite reminiscent of the current-gen Camry, but has a number of distinguishing features. There’s a new radiator grille, a bumper, and LED lights.
The vehicle is driven by a 3.5-liter, 268-horsepower V6. A hybrid version with a 2.5-liter gasoline engine and an electric motor has been announced as well.
A peek into the interior allows one to see luxurious finishing with intensive use of leather, carbon, and aluminum. Higher trim levels come with a digital fascia board and a large-screen infotainment system. Last but not least, the car gets all modern systems dedicated to driver’s safety and steering assistance.
