The Toyota Aygo compact car will be retiring soon, but it does not mean that we won’t see it on the streets again: the automaker confirmed that a successor model is already in development. Furthermore, these are its first spy photos.
The recently spotted test mule wears a rather dark camo wrap and is generally reminiscent of the Euro-spec Yaris. What’s interesting that there is another vehicle being tested next to it, and it looks like the next-gen Aygo. Rumors had claimed before that the model would transform from hatchback to crossover SUV, but this does not seem to be the case here: note especially the tiny wheels the prototype rolls upon.
The new iteration of the urban compact will likely hit the market with three-cylinder gasoline engines to choose from first, and an all-electric variant might follow up later.
