Japanese carmaker Toyota just revealed two new all-electric cars that it will soon start producing: the C-HR EV and the Izoa EV. The latter is essentially the same C-HR, but manufactured by FAW-Toyota joint enterprise in China.
You can tell both vehicles from their gas-chugging counterparts by their restyled front fascia, which includes the bumper and some other trim elements.
Interior changes are few and far between: there is a new gear selector, and the dashboard is now digital.
Neither the C-HR EV nor the Izoa EV is going to arrive before 2020, so this is perhaps why the company remains tight-lipped about any detailed technical specs.
This is the first time Toyota releases an all-electric vehicle in China. In the coming few years, the manufacturer plans to design and produce at least 10 battery cars for the international market.
The 2019 Auto Shanghai booth of Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing China also exhibits the all-electric Rhombus Concept. The car has a highly unusual seating configuration of 1-2-1. Then again, we have seen design studies like this made by other manufacturers before. Whether the car ever goes into production remains unknown, as do its technical specs.
