Rowen launches a rad-looking styling kit for the Toyota C-HR

The Toyota C-HR may be very far from what we have come to associate with sports cars, but it still enjoys a measure of popularity on the tuning scene. Japanese tuner Wald International showed us its own rendition of the C-HR last year, complete with a widebody kit, large wheels, auxiliary lights and other fashionable upgrades. A few days ago, Rowen International followed its example by launching an even more hardcore styling kit for the model.

The crossover SUV gained wheel arch extensions, side sills, beefier bumpers throughout, LED-based lighting, aftermarket wheels, and a radiator grille stripped of the manufacturer’s logo. Overall, the kit looks dashing and aggressive, and does a good job concealing the lackluster Toyota C-HR beneath.

Not everything went smoothly this time around, though. The tuner openly admits that the Toyota Safety Sense – a collision prevention system that warns you about possible impending collisions and can even pull the brakes automatically – doesn’t perform as well with the new grille installed. No solution exists to circumvent the problem right now.

Wrapping up the list of upgrades are high-performance brakes, a custom exhaust system, and Recaro bucket seats.
