Toyota updates Camry in the USA heading into 2021

Toyota has given its Camry compact sedan a facelift in North America. Let’s see what’s changed and how.

The most immediately obvious redesign is the radiator grille, which is now divided in two sections – a sleek upper one and a bulky lower one. Inside, the multimedia system now boasts a quasi-hovering display that comes in sizes ranging between 7 and 10 inches.

The 2021 Camry takes advantage of the latest Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 system, which has recently become standard in all trim levels. Improvements over the old version include better radars and advanced cruise control logic. The system can now pass other cars automatically, drive semi-independently and recognize traffic signs even in darkness.

A new hybrid spec debuts based on a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated engine and an electric motor. The duo combines their efforts for 208 hp (154 kW) and 221 Nm (163 lb-ft) of torque. The transmission is eight-speed automatic.

On the outside, the Toyota Camry XSE Hybrid boasts a different grille pattern, black mirror caps, roof and wheels, and blue-rimmed badges.
