This third-generation, 37-year-old Toyota Celica is not your average, run-of-the-mill sports car, but rather a convertible that a company by the name of American Sunroof made back in its era. It has 7,400 km (4,600 miles) on the odo, and the bidding is currently at $15,000 with a week remaining.
The so-called Celica GT-S features independent suspension, flared fenders, 14-inch wheels and sport seats that set it apart from its regular counterpart. The example on sale packs the most powerful engine out of all options that were available in its production year. It is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder mill mated to a four-speed A/T and producing 120 PS (118 hp / 88 kW).
The seller claims the only owner the car had kept it motionless with the roof folded down in an enclosed space throughout most of its life. Judging by the extremely well preserved exterior paint and pristine-looking grey trim inside the cabin, this was likely the case, too.
In terms of equipment and options, the Celica GT-S features air conditioning, power windows, cruise control, and a stereo system with a nine-band EQ.
