Customization shop TOM’s has come to the Tokyo Auto Salon 2020 with its own rendition of the Toyota Century, instantly winning the Custom Car Excellence Award in the Saloon category.
The tuner worked with the third generation of the executive car, which came out in 2018. It has extensively remodeled the body, paying special attention to the upper sides and quarterpanels, as well as the filigree trunk lip. The stock wheels made room for new chrome-coated ones, and a performance exhaust system was installed to lend the stock 5.0 V8 hybrid with its 425 hp (317 kW) a more convincing soundtrack.
Customers are invited to choose their own interior styling elements, including specific materials, color combinations and patterns.
TOM’s will be building 36 such vehicles priced from U.S. $257,000 each. While by no means cheap, this is more than twice as low as the price tag of the top-spec Century (U.S. $548,000).
