This tuned-up Toyota Century may or may not be Japan Emperor’s first choice

Artisan Spirits, a Japan-headquartered auto tune-up supplier mainly specializing in Lexus, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche brands, has tried something different with this custom build of a regal Toyota Century.

The Century model has gone through three generations since its original release in 1967, but has stayed very conservative in terms of both the design and the tech, mainly because it was specifically targeted towards the Emperor of Japan, the royal family and the high-ranking officials. It shouldn’t therefore be surprising that Artisan spirits also decided to play it safe with its tuning project.

The car receives a body kit available in two main forms: GRP (glass-fiber reinforced polyester) and CRP (carbon-fiber reinforced polymer). The former starts from the equivalent of U.S. $6,220, while the latter will set you back $9,000+.

Parts of the elegant-looking kit can be purchased separately as well, the trunk lid spoiler being the most affordable of the bunch at just $928.
