In the beginning of this year, Toyota said it was going to launch a performance edition of its Corolla best-seller hatchback with a 1.6-liter turbo under the hood. Now, it appears the company has put those plans on hold.
According to the Vice CEO of Toyota Australia, the Corolla-based hot hatch is not coming up anytime soon, although it might be released eventually.
In just a few days, Toyota will be unveiling another performance hatchback: the Yaris GR-4. The car is said to take advantage of various tech features proven to be efficient in rally racing. It will likely be powered by the abovementioned 1.6-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine and probably have AWD.
