These pics allegedly showing the crossover/SUV modification of the Toyota Corolla have been spreading online fast, hinting that the official reveal might not be far away.
According to multiple news media, Toyota may very well be testing the mini-SUV variant of its Corolla, sized about the same as the regular Corolla and therefore smaller than the RAV4.
The Toyota Corolla Cross will most probably ship with a TFSI 1.2 under the hood, although naturally aspirated 1.6 and 2.0 versions are also possible. Given the latest hybridization trend, a part-electric powertrain should also become available later. The drive will stay on the front axle in the entry-level spec, but optional AWD might be a thing.
Toyota will unveil the new Corolla before the year end and eventually aim to make it internationally available, although Asian markets will be the first to receive it.
