Toyota USA has posted a video dedicated to the GR 86, and Motor1 discovered a few frames where a GR Corolla allegedly makes a cameo. The performance car has not been properly announced with a launch date yet, but the footage hints at it having a manual transmission.
If you look past the SFX, you will see a blurred front end of a Corolla flashing briefly. The next scene focuses on a trio of pedals, which can be interpreted as a feature of either the upcoming GR 86 or the GR Corolla.
The website points out that the video has been reuploaded to Instagram with some changes and no longer shows the Corolla in full. If we were to take a guess, we would expect the new Corolla to debut sometime in the next year.
A while ago, the U.S. division of Toyota posted another video with numerous GR Corolla Easter eggs. If we assumed they were decoded correctly, it would mean the performance car would ship with the same 272-PS (268-hp / 200-kW) three-pot as the GT Yaris, mated to an all-wheel drive system.
