Toyota has shared a new video teaser of the upcoming GR 86 and made sure the GR Corolla made two cameo appearances in it as well.
The hot hatch shows up twice, and both times in disguise. The video itself is a meta-advertisement for the GR 86. It tells a story of two Toyota execs and a couple of GR team professionals studying focus group reactions to various GR 86 adverts. The GR duo tries to highlight the performance of the sports car and its manual transmission. The Toyota managers bring up the matters of practicality, explaining how having a back-up camera makes parking easy, and so on.
The viewers get to see both perspectives and learn a lot about the new sports car. Those who are enthusiastic about it will especially like the scene where it drifts inside of an abandoned shopping mall alongside a couple of Supras. In the end, it leaps into a pile of cardboard boxes.
Rumor has it the GR Corolla will arrive to us packing a 1.6-liter three-cylinder turbo (G16E-GTS, to be specific) and the GR Four AWD system. Like in the GR Yaris, the system is expected to pump out 272 PS (268 hp / 200 kW).
