The Japanese automaker has aired two promotional vids dedicated to its recently debuted GR Corolla. One of them explores the drifting capabilities of the car. The other one is called ‘Meet the Family’ and looks like a Fast & Furious tribute with anime bits thrown in for good measure.
Starting with the latter, you will find it packed with references to the earlier instalments of the Fast & Furious saga. Multiple cars riding out of a garage, driving in a convoy, a night party with the hood covers up, garage tuning and more – it’s clear what movies Toyota wanted its performance cars to be associated with.
While the first video shows multiple Gazoo Racing models, the second one is dedicated exclusively to the new GR Corolla, which is shown rolling all kinds of sideways through the most challenging curves. Powering it is a 1.6-liter engine driving all four wheels with 304 PS (300 hp / 224 kW) through a six-speed manual transmission.
