Toyota has taken to its social pages to let us know it will hold a contest among its Canadian fans for the priority right to purchase one of the hottest Corolla hatchbacks in existence. Only nine winners will get a shiny GR Corolla Morizo Edition starting from 59,990 CAD.
Rather than holding a simple raffle, the company will devise a meticulous screening procedure to make sure only the worthy are admitted – like Ferrari and some other top-of-the-line automakers do. Everyone interested will have to tell Toyota about themselves and their car preferences, as well as whether they compete in races or participate in car communities.
Another series of questions targets the background of the candidate, asking them what sports cars they had previously, including their make, model, year of manufacture and certain other details.
Finally, Toyota will want to know why you are interested in buying the hot hatch and what you are going to do with it. The options are along the lines of “Daily driver”, “Second car”, “Track tool” and “Collection piece”.
It is unknown whether any examples will be sold in the usual fashion. With the entire USA getting only 200 examples, we doubt it will be the case.
