YouTuber Man Plays has found a most unusual use for the rusty remains of an old Toyota Corolla. The host of the video turns all kinds of objects into musical instruments and sources of audio samples, and he was happy to discover that the car half-sunk into earth was a viable source, too.
In the video, Man Plays mostly uses drumsticks and pedals to get percussion samples that later get mixed into a coherent melody. The doors and the trunk lid are used to set the pace, while the stamped wheels and the hood cover mostly lend themselves as accents – you can see the author taking a good run-up before slamming the hood with a giant drumstick. A sanding machine also found use in the composition, but you will have to watch the video to see how, because only so much can be conveyed in words.
