The team of 77km.com (Spain) has conducted an obstacle evasion test known as the moose test with a Toyota Corolla GR Sport. The Japanese hatchback fell just an inch short of the “pass” speed of 77 km/h (47.8 mph).
The version tested had 196 PS (193 hp / 144 kW) under the hood. Perhaps more importantly, it took advantage of Falken Ziex Ecorun tires that the test crew believed were partly to thank for the solid performance.
During the test, the driver was unable to complete the double lane change maneuver at 77 km/h without hitting any traffic cones. However, just looking at the video leaves the impression that he would have managed with just a few more tries.
In the end, the Corolla GR Sport made a clean run at 76 km/h (47.2 mph).
