The new FX modification of the Toyota Corolla is now available in the United States. Despite being advertised as a sportier vehicle and paying homage to the 1987 Corolla FX16 hot hatch, it doesn’t offer any power benefits over the standard version.
You can recognize this special edition by its black 18-inch wheels adorned with thin silver accents, as well as blacked-out mirror covers, badges and lettering all around. A lone trunk lid spoiler also finished in black is the only thing that visibly differentiates this Corolla from stock.
The interior makes use of light-hued Moonstone fabric upholstery and orange stitching for contrast. The infotainment system connected to a 10.5-inch display is also new, but not unique: Toyota will be putting it into all MY2025 Corollas.
Like its more affordable alternative, the hatchback uses a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine and a CVT to drive the wheels with 169 PS (167 hp / 124 kW). The sprint time hovers around the eight-second mark. There are three exterior colors to choose from, but the roof and the body kit stay black no matter what.
