Toyota has worked together with its Motorsports division to build the unique FJ Bruiser, an off-road pickup truck completely restored and ready to tackle the most challenging terrain.
The project car is based on an FJ45 Cruiser pickup from the year 1966, which has been completely rebuilt with Fox shocks and Eibach springs in the suspension, 42-inch tires, 20-inch wheels with beadlock protection, and Toyota’s NASCAR engine. The 5.9-liter V8 churns out 725 PS (715 hp / 533 kW) to an automatic transmission and a transfer case.
The massive ground clearance should allow this particular Cruiser to prevail over any obstacles. Even if it does land on a rock with its belly, a special track mounted at the bottom will help it crawl off the obstacle like a tank. The feature can be activated at any time straight from the driver’s seat.
