Stick-shift Toyota GR 86 starts from $27.7k

You will be hard pressed to find an affordable modern car with a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout, manual transmission, and good performance, making the new Toyota GR 86 a rare and valuable exception.

In its newest iteration, the sports car is still not very expensive – at least not compared to its peers. At $27,700 for the base spec before all options, it is mere $640 above the MSRP of its slower predecessor.

The price quoted does not include the $1,025 dealership delivery fee, so in the United States, you should look forward to spending at least $28,725 for the bare-bones spec or $31,325 for a Premium trim.

If you prefer to drive automatic, add $1,500 to either of the specs mentioned above. Then again, Toyota points out that going manual will reduce the 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) sprint time to just 6.3 seconds, so purists will likely pick that option, anyway.
