Would you turn your Toyota GR 86 into a sports camper?

Sports cars are widely known for their practicality, vast trunk space and family recreation opportunities being largely non-existent. The cramped Toyota GR 86 has it even worse than most, but it didn’t stop an enthusiast from Japan from converting one into a stunningly practical RV.

He left the front seat row intact and freed up a large area in the back to use as an indoor bed. He also managed to stow impressive amounts of gear in it, including a water tank, a light sun tent, a couple of tables with a folding chair, outdoor mats, a portable stove, a grill set and some kitchenware. He even found enough space for such excesses as a lantern and a fan – both handy for those who like to take their basic comforts with them when going on a picnic.

The two videos illustrate how easy it can be to drive your GR 86 to an outdoor spot of your liking, take out all the necessary equipment and cook a nice meal in fresh air. If the weather happens not to cooperate, you can even cook and eat your dinner straight inside the car. Of course, taller people might need a larger “sports camper”, but everything can be accomplished with enough motivation.
