A mysterious sports car looking much like the anticipated next-gen Toyota GR 86 has recently been sighted near the Japanese carmaker’s research center in Michigan, USA.
The poor quality of the shot prevents us from discerning individual details, and the thorough disguise doesn’t help, either. Even so, the car reminds us strongly of the current-gen GR 86 with its roof and a-pillars stylized to look more like those of the latest Supra. There is also a rear spoiler and LED-based DRLs integrated in the headlights.
The next GR 86 should make a switch to the TNGA platform and a powerful naturally aspirated engine. It is expected to debut in 2021.
