As many as eight Japanese tuning houses have unveiled their vision of the latest Toyota GR 86.
Toyota Customizing & Development – an in-house personalization shop – landed the sports ca with a splitter, a large rear wing, and a modest-sized spoiler.
TOM’s put a widebody kit on an orange coupe together with a rear diffuser, quad exhaust tips and a display built into the steering wheel to show the current RPM.
HKS went farther than the eye candy and used a supercharger to raise the output to 300 PS (296 hp / 221 kW).
Trust did essentially the same using a turbo kit. The old-gen GT 86 model received 100 extra horses from this tuner, and the specs of the new RG 86 have not been announced yet.
Blitz came up with an aero kit and a suspension kit containing struts, shocks and sway bars.
Sard went for elegance and refinement, replacing the front bumper with a rather minimalistic one, adding BBS wheels, a titanium gear lever knob, and tweaking the suspension for comfort.
Finally, Cusco tapped motorsports for inspiration, putting bucket seats inside with six-point harnesses, adding a limited-slip differential and upgrading the suspension struts and sway bars to be flexibly adjustable.
