Toyota has taken the veil off the Majesty, a deluxe trim of the Hiace MPV complete with premium finishing materials and extended equipment.
The Majesty will be priced above the standard Hiace and below the Alphard, even though it is a whole meter (3.3 ft.) longer than the Alphard. Its main exterior features include originally styled LED lights, a sturdy-looking front bumper and a massive chromed front grille.
The equipment list contains nine airbags, climate control, cruise control, and two extra comfortable, power-adjustable seats with ergonomic footrests.
The cabin boasts a deluxe trim that involves natural wood, fine leather on the seats and wool on the floor. The minivan can accommodate up to nine passengers, but long-distance comfort is going to be an issue for those sitting in the trunk area.
Powering the MPV is a 2.8-liter turbocharged diesel engine with 163 hp (122 kW) and 420 Nm (310 lb-ft) of torque, sent to the rear axle by means of a six-speed automatic gearbox.
The Toyota Majesty is currently available for the equivalent of U.S. $59,000 in Thailand, with other markets scheduled to follow soon.
