Check out the world’s first igloo-style camper

The Hoshino Alz Bandai Resort in Japan offers its visitors more than just skiing: those willing to spend more time outdoors are welcome to rent the Camakuruma, a unique campervan concept styled to resemble an icehouse (the so-called igloo).

The conversion is based on the Toyota HiAce, the most popular RV material in Japan (watch the video for an example). Its interior is finished in white with as few accents as possible to create the igloo illusion. A special material printed on a 2.5D printer ensures the appropriate ice-like texture of the wall.

The exterior is likewise all white. Equipment on board includes a couple of beds, storage niches, a TV set, a faucet with a sink, and a tent. There is no kitchen or WC available.
