SAR’s probably-fastest van goes on sale for $85k+

We have already told you about this heavily tuned Toyota Hiace from South Africa before. Its owner had its engine swapped for a Toyota Century 1GZ-FE V12 mill rated at 600 PS (592 hp / 441 kW) and its body outfitted with a Lamborghini-style kit. The monster minibus is now on sale.

James, who ordered the kit from S.A.D Custom Japan, filmed a video to tell the prospective buyers all they may need to know about the build. Apparently, he spent five years working on the vehicle and made multiple newspaper headlines with the sheer craziness of the project.

The five-liter V12 engine failed to fit inside the Hiace engine bay, so James had to mount it right behind the seats, cutting a niche in the floor to accommodate the whole block. The minivan also uses a Ford Mustang rear differential, Audi R8 wheels, and Porsche 911 (997) Carrera S fuel injectors.

James explains that he would like to start working on a new project car – which is shrouded in complete mystery so far – and needs money for it. The V12-powered Hiace is currently up for grabs at the Facebook Marketplace for a buy-it-now price of $85,489 USD.
