Gazoo Racing – Toyota’s own car tuning department – participated in the recently concluded Sao Paolo Motor Show with a special edition of the 2018 Toyota Hilux pickup truck. The show car will participate in the Dakar rally in January 2019 and will be released in a series of 450 units.
The limited series will sport red/black film wrapping, black hood and radiator grille, and fog lights encased in red frames.
In addition to the above, each Toyota Hilux will get a set of exclusive 17-inch wheels, chrome-coated running boards and bottom protection.
It is perhaps worth noting that such superficial customization projects are sometimes called “conveyor-belt tuning”.
