Did you know the Toyota Hilux is over half a century old? Over 18,000,000 people have chosen it since 1968, and the popularity doesn’t seem to have declined in the slightest. Naturally, tuners can’t keep their distance from it, either.
The specimen you see here wears the latest Sports Line Black Bison Edition kit by Wald International, specially adapted to the 2020 Hilux. Included are brand-new front and rear aprons, a muscular-looking hood with a Bonnet Scoop Cove dome, robust fender flares adding 55mm (2.2in) from either side, and serious underchassis protection. Some parts flaunt exposed hardware, but this only serves to highlight the sheer brutality of the custom truck.
Further mods include a three-piece tailgate lip and new, more convenient running boards. Most components are made from carbon fiber, and some are painted grey for contrast.
As far as the wheels are concerned, Wald International suggests opting for its own 22” JARRET J11-C model wrapped in off-road tires.
Wrapping things up are tailpipes running down the sides and elevated suspension. The engine stays stock, which in the case of the 2020 Toyota Hilux means a 4.0-liter six-cylinder mill with 238 hp (177 kW) at the crank.
Well, it looks like this particular pickup no longer has that mundane ‘workhorse’ look, wouldn’t you say?
