Toyota has shared some details concerning the upcoming Hilux GR Sport Edition for Japan. As it turns out, the truck will feature revised suspension and aggressive design, making the most expensive Hilux in the current lineup.
On the outside, new elements include the grille, the bumpers, 18-inch black wheels, and fender flares that add 45 mm (1.8 inches) to the total body width (for a total of 1.9 meters, or 74.2 inches).
Inside, the seats come wrapped in Alcantara and leather, there are red trim accents throughout, a sports steering wheel, metallic pedal pads, and GR Sport badges in multiple places.
The suspension has allegedly been improved for faster steering response and comfort, but Toyota provides no specifics here.
Other than that, the GR Sport is identical to the top-spec Hilux. It comes in at ¥4,312,000 in Japan, although the non-GR top trim level can be had for ¥3,882,000.
In late August, the truck received two variants in Thailand called Revo GR Sport (watch the video for a demonstration). Despite sharing the name, one of these was focused on off-road performance and the other on fast highway driving.
