According to the local media, the renowned Japanese car manufacturer Toyota Motor Corporation plans to release a particularly hi-end version of its popular HiLux pickup truck especially for the Australian market.
The decision looks hardly coincidental, given the recent surge in luxury car demand in Australia.
There has been no official press release to confirm this information; nonetheless, it is reported that the new Toyota HiLux will compete with the latest luxury edition of Volkswagen Amarok and the soon-to-be-released Mercedes X-Class pickup.
Last but not least, it is reported that Toyota is currently considering releasing a high-performance modification of the truck, the Hilux TRD, on the Australian market as well.
