This Land Cruiser FJ62 with BMW 5 seats is a pleasant sight

A recent Bring-a-Trailer ad offers to purchase this 1988 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ62 modded in California by TLC 4×4. Let’s see what’s new and exciting.

Starting from the exterior, the window bezels are new and the running boards look much more convenient. The ARB front bumper with its bull bar, towing eyes and integrated Hella daytime lights lends the build a certain aura of ruggedness. Moving on to the rear, there is a Kaymar bumper, two gas can holders and a full-fledged spare wheel. Speaking of the wheels, the off-roader sits on 17-inch custom rollers wrapped in 33-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A rubber.

Despite all of the above, it is perhaps the cabin that harbors the most interesting change. The owner replaced the stock seats with ones taken from a BMW 5 Series, and even found suitable floor mats and noise proofing panels to go with them. The result looks very natural and almost like something that could come straight from the factory.

The 32-year-old Cruiser FJ draws its power from a 4.8-liter Vortec V8 partnered up with a four-speed automatic transmission and two reduction gears. A 144-liter (38-gallon) aftermarket fuel tank must give it plenty of range.
