Following multiple anonymous messages on forums claiming that Toyota would wrap up the production of the Land Cruiser 200 in North America after 2021, one of the marque’s authorized dealerships indirectly confirmed this state of affairs.
Toyota itself refrains from comment, and it remains unclear just why the SUV would go out of production in the USA in barely more than a year. The sources say the Land Cruiser will continue to be available on other markets, and so will its luxury-laden sibling, the Lexus LX, which will trade its 5.7-liter V8 for a more efficient turbocharged engine in the future.
The next-gen Toyota Land Cruiser 300 should launch next summer.
