Rumor: Toyota Land Cruiser 300 specs and launch date

The Toyota Land Cruiser 200 has been around for 13 long years now, and new rumors about a successor model are emerging constantly. Here is a relatively credible-looking report that yiou might find useful while the world is waiting for the Land Cruiser 300 to debut.

According to an anonymous source, the off-roader may come into the spotlight in September 2021. Multiple sources had reported earlier that the reveal had been scheduled for this summer, but later postponed. Dimensions-wise, the newcomer is going to be 4,970 mm long, 1,985 mm wide and 1,870 mm tall (the current-gen L/W/H numbers are 4,950, 1,980 and 1,880 mm, respectively). The wheelbase will reportedly extend by 50 mm to 2,900 mm total, resulting in a more stable behavior at higher speeds. The cabin will allegedly come in two versions: two rows / five seats and three rows / eight seats. The touch-enabled multimedia display will grow up in size to 12.3 inches.

The 4.6-liter V8 will allegedly be ditched in favor of a hybrid powertrain dominated by a 3.5-liter six-cylinder rated at 299 hp (223 kW) and 356 Nm (263 lb-ft) of torque. A 180-hp (134-kW) electric motor will assist it. Those not interested in hybrids would be able to opt for a 3.5-liter V6 twin-turbo setup good for 415 hp (309 kW). One final option would arrive in the guise of a 3.3-liter diesel, but no further specs are being provided in this respect.

The Land Rover 300 will come with a steep 500,000 JPY price bump in Japan, the source reports. This would bring its starting price close to 5,300,000 JPY, or $50,700 USD according to the current conversion rates.
