After a few sightings of the next-gen Toyota Land Cruiser 300 on public roads, another two photos have arrived showing a whole batch of new SUVs parked outside without any disguise.
Judging by the images, the car gets to keep its usual proportions while getting a new muscular hood, bumpers, radiator grille and LED lighting. Wheels are expected to come in sizes from 17 to 20 inches.
It is reported that the new Land Cruiser is about 20 mm (0.8”) longer than the old one, 5 mm (0.2”) wider and 10 mm (0.4”) less tall with 50 mm (2”) of extra wheelbase. The total wheelbase length should thus amount to 2.9 meters, or 113 inches.
The old 4.6-liter V8 will likely yield its place to a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 rated at 415 PS (409 hp / 305 kW). A 3.3-liter V6 turbo diesel good for 309 PS (305 hp / 227 kW) is also expected to be available. Both options will allegedly ship with a ten-speed automatic transmission. A hybrid version may come next year.
The top GR-S spec will reportedly feature differential locks, suspension with kinetic stabilization, and 18-inch wheels clad in off-road tires.
Rumor has it that Toyota will unveil its updated SUV later this spring and start production on July 1, shipping the petrol version first and the diesel one a bit later.
